On October 29, 1962, Edmundo F. Unson, Sr. together with other businessmen founded The Mercantile Insurance Co., Inc. The early years of Mercantile were spent in the bustling district of Escolta, Manila, and five (5) years later, transferred to Juan Luna, Binondo.
